All About Maple for Food Service

Have you made it your business to provide food to individuals, or groups of all sizes? Then pure maple syrup is probably among your purchasing checklist or food inventory spreadsheet must-haves. Whether as an ingredient or a standalone product, wholesale maple syrup serves countless roles in a food service setting.

At Bissell Maple Farm we serve a range of markets and we’ve partnered with food service clients of all stripes to supply their needs for pure maple syrup. Are you a food service business looking for a local supplier? Here’s what to know and what to expect when you work with the team at Bissell.

Why Food Service Maple Products?

From bulk maple syrup products for use in recipes or on breakfast tables, to spicy maple syrup for use in gourmet sauces, the demand for natural, minimally processed, locally-produced  options to traditional substitutions for cane sugar has increased among consumers. Opting for maple syrup for your food service needs can be a selling point to your clientele. Those who have tasted the artificially colored and flavored corn syrup of days past next to a pure maple syrup have to admit that there’s no contest for nuance or depth of flavor. And you can feel good knowing that you’re supporting a local company–not a large conglomerate. Your customer demographic may appreciate that too.

As a food service establishment, when you’re looking for artisan or specialty ingredients–including pure maple syrup–you may be willing to go a bit out of your way to find what you’re looking for. At the same time, you likely prefer to have an easy-to-order, easy-to-deal with option. When you work with Bissell Maple Farm and take advantage of our food service maple products, you get the best of both worlds. We offer a locally-produced and domestically-sourced artisan products at the scale and consistency that you’ve come to expect when sourcing ingredients and food supplies. Our pure maple syrup products can be obtained in the following:

  • Gallon Jugs: Choose from Grade A Amber Color Rich Taste and Grade A Dark Color Robust Taste. An order equates to 4 gallons per case, and 36 cases per pallet.

  • Organic Maple Sugar: Used as a 1:1 substitute for white or brown sugar in any recipe. An order equates to 40 pounds per case, with a total of 40 cases per pallet.

All of our pure maple products are Kosher certified, with organic options available upon request. To know which of our size options works best for you, check out our information about grades of maple syrup to choose which flavor profile best aligns with your needs. As a general rule, lighter grades are typically produced mid-season and offer a classic maple flavor, while the darker grades are produced later in the season and have more intense flavors, thanks to chemical reactions that take place with warming temperatures.
